CombineNet Announces Renewal Of Software License And Service Agreement With PPG Industries
PITTSBURGH, PA—July 10, 2003
CombineNet (www.combinenet.com) announces that it has agreed to renewal terms on its software license and service agreement with Pittsburgh-based PPG Industries (PPG). Although the specific terms and conditions of the transaction have not been disclosed, both parties offered that the deal involves a number of strategic sourcing events over the next year. In addition, the agreement sets forth a framework for both companies to explore innovative new applications of CombineNet's Decision-Guidance Systems to other areas of PPG's business.
CombineNet has provided significant value to PPG over this past year, said Jim Polak, PPG's Director of General Purchasing. "As their first client, we're genuinely pleased to see how the company and the demand for their solutions continue to grow."
According to Kathleen McGuire, PPG's Vice President of Purchasing and Distribution,
CombineNet's solutions are earmarked for some of PPG's most complex and strategic areas of spend, such as transportation, packaging, and raw materials. We appreciate the complementary benefits between self-service and semi-custom sourcing solutions (the latter being provided by CombineNet), and the flexibility it affords our sourcing organization."
PPG was our first major customer," said Tony Bonidy, CombineNet's chief executive. "This renewal demonstrates that we have earned our keep. World-class companies like PPG are discovering there is no better way to maximize savings in strategic sourcing than with CombineNet's Decision-Guidance Systems."
