CombineNet And Procter & Gamble Expand Contract

PITTSBURGH, PA—August 5, 2003

CombineNet (www.combinenet.com) today announced that it has signed a new contract with The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:P&G) to broaden the company's use of CombineNet's patented Decision-Guidance Systems™. The deal expands an existing agreement, whereby P&G uses CombineNet technology to manage complex, strategic sourcing information for raw materials, transportation, and packaging categories.

Over the past six months, P&G used CombineNet's Decision-Guidance Systems to support a number of complex sourcing projects. As a result of savings and return on investment achieved, P&G and CombineNet extended the deal to cover more projects and new categories.

CombineNet's technology has enabled us to better understand total costs in our more complex spend poolscosts that encompass both price and non-price factors," said Carol Rubeo, Director of Purchases Innovation, P&G. "This is a 'win-win' for both P&G and our suppliers."

According to Tony Bonidy, President of CombineNet,

We are very proud to have one of the premier global companies embrace our technology. P&G is among those forward-thinking Fortune 1000 companies that are realizing how Decision-Guidance Systems can deliver unprecedented competitive advantage, and who are increasingly adopting the technology as a mainstream business solution. Our technology is helping P&G and other leading global companies capture and analyze very large, complex price and non-price criteria to determine the direct impact on the bottom line."
CombineNet's Decision-Guidance Systems helps companies quickly and easily analyze the enormous volume of information that factors into today's business decision, so they can not only reduce cost of goods sold and improve their bottom line, but deliver even greater value to their consumers and shareholders," said Michael Concordia, vice president of marketing for CombineNet. "Due to the increasingly complex nature of global markets, CombineNet's Decision-Guidance Systems are rapidly becoming a must-have tool for business managers in all the world's great companies."
