CombineNet Client Named Finalist In CNET Networks UK Technology Awards

HJ Heinz Company UK nominated by CombineNet for Business Technology Innovation of the Year category

CombineNet (www.combinenet.com), developers of the world's most advanced technology for delivering e-procurement and supply chain cost savings, announced today that HJ Heinz Company UK was named one of three finalists in the CNET Networks UK Technology Awards in the Business Technology of the Year category. The nomination cited Heinz's UK Truckload project, which utilized CombineNet's Decision-Guidance System to achieve significant financial savings on transport of Heinz ambient and frozen products. CombineNet worked closely with Translogistica Ltd., a London-based logistics e-tendering company, to provide technical support for the project.

The Business Technology of the Year category is one of ten and recognizes companies or individuals who have deployed a technology to fix a business problem, producing a return on investment within 12-18 months. Additionally, entries are evaluated based on how the project has changed business practices; created new, more efficient processes or ways of working; or introduced new, leading-edge technologies while meeting overall business objectives. The technology must have been deployed after January 2002 and have involved implementation in the UK. Winners of the CNET Networks Technology Awards 2003 will be announced at a gala dinner on October 8 in conjunction with the closing of the UK Technology Summit at the Bloomberg Studios in London. This is the inaugural year for the awards.
